Hydro fan needs replacing but pulling the ZT3400 trans axle seems like a headache. Has anyone managed to do it without taking every thing apart?

My bro had the same issue and was able to wiggle the old fan out and the new one in by removing any obstructions around the transaxle. it can be tight though! he learned it from watching YouTube videos. it can be super helpful for seeing the process.

you know, trying to snake a new fan in there without pulling the transaxle is often more of a headache than just doing the job right. It's usually tucked in there pretty tight
Most folks I know bite the bullet and pull it. It sucks, but it gives you better access and less chance of breaking something else

I ended up pulling the transaxle last month. It was more work upfront but made swapping the fan simple and I did not risk breaking the new part forcing it in.
